Kefka Palazzo was one of the Four Imperial Generals before he betrayed the Empire with his desire to destroy everything. He was defeated by Locke and his party before he could fully achieve his goals, however. Kefka was also the first (and the experimental) Magitek Knight. It is possible that the unrefined experiment is what caused him to go completely mad. Kefka, while coming off as generally pleasant if a bit strange or childish, is still very dangerous. He is currently in a state of being more ridiculous than dangerous, but it is best to be wary regardless. There is no telling what will set the mad clown off.
With the arrival of Celes and Cyan on Ergheiz, Kefka has grown a little more tense. There is also the addition of a strange... monkey doll... that seems to follow both he and Setzer around, no matter how hard they try to get rid of it. Also strange is that the man's general state of mind is calmer now than it was before; perhaps this can be attributed to the time spent with Setzer.
